The main elements of the game are as follows… A custom mouse cursor graphic to act as the players target cross-hair.
Each enemy has 2 classic tweens associated with it. An energy bar to display the players remaining energy. The energy bar MovieClip has a classic tween which reduces the width of the green layer each time the player is hit. An end game MovieClip to display the outcome. Adobe Animate offers an accessible starting point for anyone wanting to create some basic animations or 2D games. The tutorial here also uses ActionScript 3. In their current format they rely heavily on global variables, where passing parameters would be better practice. Whilst I hope to offer improved variants on this tutorial in the future, you may wish take on the challenge yourself!
