Windows 7 install printer driver script
Yes, KB is installed on the windows 7 computers - but again I have a computer policy that is being applied to disable point and print. I have also tried, as I stated earlier, modifying that same policy to enable point and print as well as add in the FQDN of my print servers and supressing the prompts.
Going back to the client's application event log I see the following error: - Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0xbcb The specified printer driver was not found on the system and needs to be downloaded.
I need to stress, again, because I've read everywhere that disabling point and print is the workaround for this - but it's not! And again, these policies work great on windows I have spent days on this issue, I've found nobody that has had this issue - where the driver just won't install so I'm here begging for some help. And any help is greatly appreciated. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. BAT file, then edit the variables as needed:.
However, when I put it into a GPO to run the. Any ideas on how I can get around that? Like Like. Multiple keys of the same name cannot exist next to each other in Registry, so there must be some difference in these copies. Or is that a special case that requires some changes to the above process? Hey there, markolinux I believe prnport. In any case, give it a try. I used to use the built-in Windows printing scripts prndrvr. If I need to replace a newly added driver to almost all the printers in the environment, please let me know the command.
Has anyone ever confirmed this script working on Windows 10 Pro? In my testing on Win 10 Pro everything works except importing of the settings. I am already using the working portions of the script in production with our management system to automatically install printers at remote locations when a computer checks in with a remote branch offices unique network address. So much thanks for sharing this script! It would be phenomenal if I could just get the final step of importing the Sharp device settings into the process.
First off I just want to say thank you for this. We have a lot of Sharps and they have been a pain, how do you go about the auto config options etc, as I have found that with out sharps they are missing addition paper feeder units, so we need to run the auto configuration.
Am I missing something or if you run the auto config, get the paper trays etc, then export those settings it should be retained when installing via rundll32 printui. Hey there Michael. I work with a lot of them in my environment and am curious if I have successfully scripted said model before. When running the line rundll32 printui. You caught me right before a long vacation. You can obscure the IP address for security if you wish. That being said, the printui.
Thank you so much for this information. It was very helpful. Hi Anyone know of a way to install printers locally on worgroup computers. Cant install the printer from printserver I have looked on some vbscript, but seems that they wont run on windows vista or windows 7. I Think powershell is the way to go, but have not found powershell script to do this. Regards Trond Erik.
Hi have just tested the command and got it to install. If you have a network printer that you need to specify the ports you need to use registry to define this.
I used this regkey: Windows Registry Editor Version 5. This allowed us to script installations company wide.
Hope this helps someone My printer ip address is Office Office Exchange Server.
